approach
The Maud project began with a strategic and research-driven approach focused on understanding the relationship between companies and their creative teams. I explored the tension that often exists between structure and creativity, identifying communication gaps, misaligned expectations, and undervalued creative labor as key challenges in professional environments.
Through brand research and visual analysis, I positioned Maud as a consultancy that does not suppress creativity, but amplifies it, helping organizations work with creatives rather than around them. This approach guided both the strategic foundation and the visual direction of the brand.
challenges
One of the main challenges of the Maud project was balancing expressiveness with clarity. Creating a brand that feels rebellious and creative without becoming visually overwhelming required careful decision-making and refinement.
Another challenge was ensuring that the identity communicated professionalism while still pushing against traditional corporate norms. Through iteration and testing, I refined the visual system to maintain legibility, adaptability, and strategic purpose, demonstrating how bold design can still function effectively within professional contexts.
concept and inspiration
The concept behind Maud is built on boldness, disruption, and confidence. Rather than adopting a safe or conventional corporate aesthetic, the brand embraces a rebellious and expressive visual language that reflects the energy of creative professionals.
Maud’s identity represents the intersection between strategy and imagination, where innovation is not chaotic but intentional. The brand’s visual voice communicates clarity, empowerment, and movement, positioning Maud as a catalyst for creative growth within structured systems.
Design execution
The execution of the Maud brand identity focused on creating a flexible and expressive visual system. I developed a strong logo mark, a vibrant and unconventional color palette, and a typographic hierarchy that balances impact with readability. The combination of bold colors, high-contrast elements, and dynamic layouts reinforces the brand’s confident and forward-thinking personality.
Photography and mockups were used to demonstrate how the identity adapts across multiple platforms, including print, digital media, environmental applications, and branded merchandise. The result is a cohesive identity system that maintains consistency while allowing for creative freedom and scalability.
